Our New House!

In other news (we've got a lot going on at the moment): we're buying a house!

This house is in historic Grant Park.  It's just a little bit south of I-20, east of 75/85.  It's a 6 minute drive to Grady hospital, 7 1/2 min drive to Crawford Long Hospital (where I'm delivering the baby), 15 minutes to Emory, and 18 minutes to the VA Hospital.  It's a really great location for us, plus we're right by the interstate.  The address is 781 Rosedale Ave SE, Atlanta, GA if you want to look it up on a map.

Grant Park is a big park with walking trails, as well as the Atlanta Zoo and the Cyclorama (a civil war thing) about one block away.  This is a real popular area and has been growing quite a bit over the past 10 years.

This house was bought about 4 months ago and the owner flipped it.  It was originally built in 1948. So, the whole thing is totally re-done and basically brand new.  The AC and heater are both 4 years old, the water heater is brand new, new plumbling, new roof, lots of new stuff.

Alright...enjoy the pics!

This is the front of the house.  Newly sodded yard.

The back with that great big patio.

The view from the patio onto the flat backyard and the one car garage (it's a shared garage and shared driveway...apparently that's really normal for in-town living...)

This is the kitchen.  New appliances, granite countertops.

Another view of the kitchen, kind of looking toward the front living/dining room.

The final view of the kitchen.

The living room/dining room.  This is a good size room (not huge, but a nice size).

The master suite is upstairs (along with a "bonus rooom").  The master bedroom has a cute accent of stained glass built into the wall...super cute.  This is the master bath...dual sinks and a walk-in closet...
Also upstairs is the laundry area.  Stackable Whirlpool Duet washer/dryer is included

Another view of the master bath.

Two bedrooms and the guest bath are downstairs.  This is the 2nd bathroom.

This is actually the upstairs "bonus room."  It could be used as an office or nursery.  It's a cute room and has pocket doors!.

This is one of the bedrooms.  4 walls, windows...not all that interesting...it's a bedroom. :-)

This is the view of the front steps going up to the front door.

Pregnant!

We're embarking on that next great journey - parenthood!

As of this post, Anne is 14 weeks pregnant.  We're super excited about this new addition to our family.  The due date is estimated at September 21st.  We don't know yet whether it's a boy or a girl; we'll find out at our next OB visit in about a month.  The attached ultrasound image is from Feb 13th - about 8 weeks along.  The baby in this picture is 1.6 cm long!

Anyway, we'll keep everyone updated!
